Dr. and Mrs. S. P. Landry were visited last week by their cousins Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Wilbanks of Canton, along with friends, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Battle of Wadley.
Monaray Powers has returned from spending several days in Baytown, Texas where she attended the graduation of her grandson Cameron Powers from Robert E. Lee High School on May 31. He has been accepted to Concordia University in Austin, Texas starting in the fall. His parents, Samuel and Joy Powers entertained at a barbecue in his honor before the graduation on Saturday evening with around 50 people attending.
Robin Benkoski entertained at a cookout Saturday in honor of Peter Benkoski’s 50th birthday and Glenda Nelms’ birthday. Relatives and friends enjoyed the occasion. Glenda was unable to attend due to illness. We hope she will soon feel better.
Those attending the Georgia Press Association annual meeting and “Better Newspaper Contest” Awards Ceremony in Panama City Beach, Florida were Patrick and Dianne Yost and Zach, Grace and Harrison, Kathryn Purcell, Artrose Cooper, Angelina Bellebuono, and Becky Snowden. The Morgan County Citizen won first place in General Excellence in their division, among many other awards.
Joe Ward is a patient at Morgan Memorial TCU.
Taylor Kinney, daughter of Kathy Haley, turned eight on June 1. She celebrated her birthday on June 8 with her family and friends. They enjoyed a “Tinkle Bell” cake and ice cream.
Robert and Ruth Rakes Lee of Newnan, granddaughter of the late Ola Gilbert Lilly and Rebecca Lilly Armstrong of California, daughter of the late Ola Gilbert Lilly, were in Madison on Thursday. Artis and Neta Peppers and Monaray Powers enjoyed lunch with them at Ye Olde Colonial Restaurant.
Steve Barrett is now at Morgan Memorial Hospital TCU, where he is now recuperating from his recent accident.
Ruth Williams is a patient at Morgan Memorial Hospital.
Milton and Betty Lou Medlock of Cottontown, Tennessee were spent the night guests of L. C. and Monaray Powers on Sunday.
