With visitors inside and beautiful weather outside, the beginning of a beautiful day with the Lord Lou opened his message, “Babies are perfect in the sight of God, no sin when they are born and until they reach the age of accountability” and it being Baby Dedication Day, he took his message from Colossians 3:21, with references to Matthew 18 and Romans 1:18.
He spoke to the parents, telling them to bring up their child to hear and experience the gospel. Work hard to keep your child on the straight and narrow way. If we do not, we will suffer. We either believe or we don’t believe. Satan is out to deceive. He wants us to walk in his way but so does Jesus and He will never leave us. You cannot serve two masters. Strive to enter in. Conversion begins “as being a little child.”
For her dedication Little Miss MacKenzie Morris, daughter of Brandon and Nicole Morris, was surrounded by family and loved ones. She wore the same little white lacy outfit that her mother wore for her own dedication. To witness the occasion were her great-grandparents, Marilyn and Joe Cutcliff and Betty and Cliff Walker; her grandparents, Herman and Shondia Evans and Pam White. Others visiting were her aunt and uncle, Amanda and Erik Hullinger, Joy Crump, Stacy and Fred Evans with their young son; cousins, Heather, Ethan and Trey Evans, Bonnie and Melissa Crump. MacKenzie is also the only granddaughter of Gary and Debbie Morris.
Our family visited this weekend beginning on Saturday with Gayle and Jimmy Holmes; Susanne and Eric Bell along with Bailey and Anna, then Jill and Mark made a stop over from their return from Destin headed for Charlotte to spend the night.
June 1 will be “Senior Recognition” to honor John Lawson and Tyler Ward. June 8 will be the date of our second Baby Dedication. Seems we couldn’t get all the families together to settle on one date. If you need information please call me.
Word was passed to me on Sunday night by Lynda Palmer that on May 31 HISSONG, a gospel group out of Tennessee will be in concert at Park Ferry. Bring a covered dish and a chair. I’ve heard them on several occasions and they are a good group. You’ll enjoy. Also put the date of June 22 on your calendar, time for Vacation Bible School! June 6, singing at Crawfordville Auction Barn with the LanierLand Boys at 7 p.m. Don’t forget our 4th Sunday “Singspiration” on the 25. The Community Sing at Grace Bible Church will be the 29 at 7 p.m.
Please notice the beautiful flowers placed each week. These are grown and furnished by our own “flower lady,” Eleanor Johnson. Tell her how much you appreciate her generosity.
Happy birthday to Abby Harrington on the 24 and to Joe Collins on the 31. Anniversary blessing to Jack and Alice Waddell on the 24.
Health tip of the week: Avocados are good for you. They help lower cholesterol, help to stop strokes, battles diabetes, controls blood pressure and smooths skin.
Until next week may the Lord bless you real good.
