Dora Lee Canoy
    Dora Lee Cobb Canoy, 74, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at her home in Madison. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Lassie Bellew Cobb. She was born August 7, 1933 in Morgan County. She was married to Ray Canoy. She was a member of Madison Church of God. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
    Mrs. Canoy is survived by her two children, Lisa Griffin of Madison and Richard Cobb of Powder Springs; her siblings, Frances Stephens, Lillie Jones, Rose Jenkins, Joann Stancil and Jerry Cobb; grandchildren, Dusty Cobb, Heather Cobb and Kenny Griffin, and great grandchildren, Sommer Ruark, Autumn Ruark, Micah Cobb, Ashley Phelps, Tommy Phelps, Emily Phelps and Gracie Phelps. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Canoy, two sons, Kenneth Griffin and Johnny Griffin and her siblings, Joyce Phelps, Ted Cobb and Sharon Williamson.
    Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17 in the chapel at A. E. Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. J. T. Willoughby officiating. Interment was in Almond Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenny Griffin, Dusty Cobb, Ron Cobb, Lee Cobb, Rodney Jenkins and Coty Pinson.

Dorothy Shepherd
Bumgarner
    Dorothy Shepherd Bumgarner, 73, of Madison died Wednesday, May 7, 2008. She was born January 8, 1935 in Morgan County to Fox and Lizzie Daniel Shepherd. She was married to Virgil Bumgarner.
    She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She will be remembered as an encourager to those around her.
    Mrs. Bumgarner is survived by her husband of 54 years, Virgil Bumgarner and one daughter and son-in-law, Connie Cunningham and Jimmy; one granddaughter, Emily Lacy and husband Jim; three grandsons, Jim Lacy Jr., John Lacy and Jay Lacy; two sisters, Kathleen Bumgarner Baughcum and husband Curtis and Thelma Moon and husband Aubrey.
    Funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 9 at Trinity Baptist Church. Interment followed at Sugar Creek Church Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association.

James Lee Jenkins Sr.
    James Lee Jenkins Sr., 59, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008. He was born September 14, 1948 in Wilkes County to Jessie Lee Jenkins and the late Susie Williams Jenkins. He was married to Sandra Fox Jenkins on August 26, 1972 and they lived in Morgan County.
    Mr. Jenkins was a glass cutter by trade. He enjoyed fishing and reading but he loved most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
    He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandra Fox Jenkins and their children, James Lee Jenkins Jr. and B. J., Christopher Michael Jenkins and Kristy, Frances Virginia Bell and Corry, Jessie William Jenkins and Melissa and Johnny Parker Jenkins and Jill; 11 grandchildren, Ashley, Allie, Luke, Trey, Ethan, Kaitlyn Keely, Gracey, Molly, Grayson and Haley; two sisters, Shirley Jenkins and Evelyn Fox and two brothers, Lester Jenkins and Charlie Jenkins.
    Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 16 in the chapel at A. E. Carter Funeral Home.

Russell Brandon Weaver
    Russell Brandon Weaver, 33, of Madison died at his home Tuesday, May 13, 2008, surrounded by his family.
    He was a native of Pine, Arizona. He was the son of Stephen Douglas Weaver and Gaye Lee Stidham. He was married to Jenny Hernandez Joubert. He owned and operated Spray Foam System.  Mr. Weaver will be remembered as a very active man. He was an inventor, an entrepreneur and a comedian. He loved to make his friends laugh. He also loved the lake and spending time wakeboarding.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny and children, Meghan Joubert and T. J. Peters and his parents, Gaye Stidham and Stephen Weaver and Beckie; grandparents, Roger and Maggie Weaver and Beverly Thomas; siblings, Lindsay Lutan and Nathan, Douglas Weaver and Erica, Twilla Betts, Justin Cline, Jody Cline, Sherah Cline, Segan Cline, Kenny Stidham, David Stidham and Joy Stidham and other family and close friends.
    A service to celebrate the life of Russell Brandon Weaver was held at his home Saturday, May 17 at 1 p.m.
