Brownwood locals vacation in the Smoky Mountains

By Margie Ward

On Sunday morning a very good attendance present with several visitors; we were glad to have them and was blessed by their attendance and pray they also received a blessing by being with us today in God’s house; We hope you will come back as God leads.
The call to worship was “How Great Thou Art” by the Praise Team. Baptismal service was held for Christy Brown, Abigail Janson, Stephen Launder, Abigail Moss and Rebekah Moss. We are thankful for each one of these and pray they will always continue to do God’s will.
Bro. Ron’s message was “The Judgement Seat of Christ,” II Cor. 5:10, Romans 14: 10-12, I Cor. 11: 2. Part of preparation to present the Bride (church) of Christ. The first thing we need is salvation. Then the Rapture will remove God’s own from the tribulation to come and afterward we will be examined at the Judgement Seat of Christ. (Not the Great White Throne Judgement). God hates sin so there will be a judgement someday, but He is a God of mercy and extends His mercies to the world to give all who will a chance to come to Him. We will have to account to Him for all we’ve done. He reminds us that “there is no condemnation in those who are in Christ Jesus.” The preface is God has given us the ministry of the Gospel and we are not to lose heart. Being a child of God pleasing Him, have proper Christian behavior, love Him and each other, do good and share, our ambition should be to please Him in all that we do. We are accountable to God, as Christians the love of God constrains us, the only solid foundation is Christ the Lord. The invitation was by Bonita Crew, Patsy and Denny Pickett “Learning to Lean.”
On Sunday night at 6 p.m. the youth were in charge of the service.
The fourth annual Women’s Conference will be held at Centennial May 2 and 3. Call 706-557-2120 for more information.
Brownwood will be going to NurseCare next Sunday afternoon, May 7 at 2 p.m. for singing and visitation.
Margie Ward visited Carol Ward and Grace Ward Tuesday morning.
Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel and Zach Wood had supper Tuesday night with Margie Ward.
Last week a group from Brownwood Baptist, along with others from the community took a trip to The Great Smokey Mountains. They stayed in Robbinsville, North Carolina at the beautiful Smokey Mountain Masion. Some of the sights they enjoyed were Fields of the Wood, just outside Murphy, North Carolina. It’s a Bible Park where you experience God’s Word unfold through the use of marble and stone preserved so future generations may come to the mountains and catch the vision of Christ. They also enjoyed God’s beauty as they drove the Skyway Scenic Highway. Those enjoying the trip were Esther Atkinson, James Harold and Ellen Smith, Toy and Barbara Sims, Billy and Julie Phillips, Millie McNair, Kittie Mayfield, Kathy Scott, Chuck Waldrop, Mary Jo Collins and Sara Jones.
Thursday, May 1 there will be an observance of the National Day of Prayer on the courthouse steps at noon. There will be speakers as well as special music. Please come out to pray with us.
Thursday night, May 1, the Associational Brotherhood meeting will be at Centennial Baptist with dinner served at 7 p.m. Get up a group from your church and come enjoy the time of worship and fellowship.
Have a wonderful week! When the storms of life come don’t tell God how big your storm is tell your storm how big your God is.
