“I hope the pollen is about through falling”
By Mae Buice
Here we are the middle of April and where is our continuously warm weather? To me it’s still not the warmth I remember of past April’s. I guess we’ll be complaining before long that it’s too hot. We can’t be pleased can we?
Sunday was a beautiful day. I hope the pollen is about through falling. So many have had bad allergies from all the pollen. Open up your doors and windows for a bit of fresh air and inside your house gets covered.
Services were good on Sunday. The topic of Lou’s sermon was, “So Little Time”. He quoted a poem stating that “time just slips away and to treasure those moments as if it were purest gold.” “Swiftly go the years – God can heal – God can show wondrous beauty – but in heaven that time is no more.”
Yes, we do have so little time. Do we give enough of our time to our Lord? Take a moment for yourself. Take a moment to ponder, find a special place for this, your back porch out in the pasture, out under a tree, someplace where it will be just you and God. Pray in earnest, feast on these minutes we are living in trying time, there is one that can lift those burdens, can you lay all at the feet of your Lord? Remember, He’s there for us at all times. Taking his sermon from Matthew 5 he spoke to us about the Sermon on the Mount. When you reflect on the Word of God He will hear you. It’s so depressing to hear and see all that’s going on in America today. Repent, we all have a goal, a goal to get to heaven. Walk and reflect on that straight and narrow path. We receive blessings when we reflect on the Lord. Verse 6 tells us to hunger and thirst after righteousness, have pity and compassion for others. Do you remember learning the “Sermon on the Mount” as a small child? Go back to your past and revisit, read and ponder on these wondrous words in Matthew 5 and reflect on the words of God.
I’ve missed being with you the last two weeks. We enjoyed a much-needed vacation and we did get plenty of R & R.
