Lady Dogs soccer have win streak snapped

Coming off two straight wins and carrying a 2-0 region record, the Lady Dogs soccer team ran into some tough competition last week.
Last Tuesday in Madison it was Monroe who handed the team a 5-0 loss after the Lady Dogs had just beaten GMC 5-0 the night before.
"I think we were tired from the game the night before," said Lady Dogs Head Coach Jessica Ward. "Even being tired the girls played hard and gave it their all. We just couldn't get it in the net."
Thursday, Ward said, the team looked better, but they still fell short 2-0 at Winder-Barrow.
"The girls played harder than ever with a lot of heart," Ward said. "We prevented a lot of goals from going in but we also had several opportunities. I am extremely pleased with the game considering Winder has always had an excellent soccer program."
The Lady Dogs have an important home region match-up this Friday with GMC where the Lady Dogs will look to get back in the win column.
