The results were mixed for the Morgan County tennis teams last week. They struggled with North Oconee in make-up matches, but in much the same way they were dominated by the Titans and Lady Titans, they dominated the Putnam Eagles and Lady Eagles.
The boys and girls teams beat Putnam at first, second and third singles and first and second doubles in a total sweep. Unfortunately, that was their same fate with North Oconee.
"North Oconee is always a tough opponent," said Morgan County Head Tennis Coach Jim Fowler. "And they have a stellar guys and girls team this year."
Aside from their normal action, the tennis team got a chance to take a swing with and against parents in their player/parent tournament Friday in Madison.
"Kids and parents had a blast," Fowler said.
Logan Plumly, along with his dad Chuck Plumly, won the tournament edging Katherine Cooper, and her father David, in the championship.
"It is always fun to get the parents out playing with the kids," Fowler said. "I appreciated all the parents that volunteered to play and all the spectators that came to watch the event."
The team will be back in action Thursday when they host Franklin County. They travel to Macon Saturday to face Sumpter and Americus.
