Buckhead Baptist to hold community-wide bake sale on Saturday

By Betty Moore

The youth at Grace Bible Church had a musical on Sunday night “Alive Alive.” I understand that it was very good and inspirational. The youth had gone to the matinee of the Atlanta Passion Play on Saturday. The drama brought new meaning to not only the Grace youth but to anyone else that attended.

With the tornado weather I am so thankful that there was no damage at our house. We saw only a little hail. One person told me that hail pelted at their house. It was golf ball size. At that rate it can do much damage if it last long enough. My brother J. T. Brake Jr. who lives at Manchester, Tennessee saw the Atlanta damage on TV. He recognized some of the buildings that he had seen as he passed through on I-75. Someone told me today Monday that bad weather may hit again this week.
Jo Ann Roberts and Carol and Steven Grandt have returned home after a two-week visit to Ft. Pierce, Florida. Jo Ann’s four children live there. Carol’s parents and brother live there also.
Don’t forget the singing at Grace Bible Church on the fourth Thursday night. You are invited.
The Swords United Methodist Church will celebrate Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m. They will have an egg hunt on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
I heard about Hazel Jordan getting a broken bone recently. I’m sorry that I have failed to call her. I’ve known Hazel for over 45 years. I hope that things are going along better.
The Buckhead Baptist Church will have a community-wide bake sale at the church on Saturday. There will be free hot dogs. Come buy your dessert for Easter from 10:30 to 12:30. Their adult choir will sing on Sunday morning. The children will have their Easter program Sunday night. Fellowship will follow with finger food. You are invited.
We send our sympathy to David and Leigh Howell Coberly in the death of his dad at Elkins, West Virginia. He had been in declining health for sometime. Three months ago David’s mother died suddenly. We are so sorry. David has a brother and sister up there.
