Thought for the week: “God is the answer to all your problems”
By Willie Ann Johnson
Today is Sunday afternoon and I am just getting back from Myrtle Beach, where the weather was great, cool mornings, afternoons perfect for a walk on the beach. Praise God!
Our Pastor and First Lady and church family went on a vacation and had one of the greatest retreat with our youths. They all enjoyed the trip. While we were away my nursing home ministry went on in full force with Mother Rebecca Hubbard, Sis. Arimather Smith, Sis. Donna Briney, Sis. Maryann Bailey and Sis. Elaine Atkinson. A guest Dea. Emmitt Powers and Dea. Dennis, one of the residents led them in prayer. Thank you Lord.
After watching the news we saw where a tornado hit Atlanta. It did say in 2 Chronicles 7: 14 “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land and I will listen to every prayer made in this place.” Our land needs healing. When we disobey God with all this killing and other stuff we have the option of humble repentance then blessings can flow again if our repentance is true and not a play to “get” back on God’s good side.
We have been truly blessed with good weather but I heard Saturday was a day some of the older people never witnessed. Some said they did not know this was coming. He said you would never know the hour or day I will appear so get your house in order. No time for hating on your brothers and sisters in Christ if you want to see Jesus you must love everyone; and when I say I love you I mean it because that is a big four letter word with a lot of meaning. Praise the Lord!
I was very thankful to see some things in tact when we arrived back home. Thank you Lord.
Our Women’s Day program will be Easter Sunday you are welcome to come and enjoy these services with us.
Mother Rebecca and Pop were waiting at the church to greet us back. Glad to see them and they were glad to see all us back safe.
On Sunday we will have a great celebration. It is great to me because we celebrate Christ’s resurrection. God promised to send a Savior and He did. That is what Easter is about. Easter is the good news about Jesus and is still good news today. Praise the Lord!
Keep all the sick, shut-ins and bereaved in your prayers.
