A budget meeting is in the works for Rutledge, according to the Rutledge City Council at its meeting Monday. Residents will be able to contribute their opinions and ideas about taxes and other expenses at a budget meeting that will be held sometime before June.
The council encouraged citizens to keep an eye out for fliers that will be posted downtown with more information about the date and time of the meeting.
Also at the meeting, the council thanked Tommy Breedlove for his contributions to Rutledge, including upcoming work cleaning up trees within the city.
“He’s always been good to the City of Rutledge,” said Councilman Tom Strott.
The hail storm Saturday caused no damage to government buildings in Rutledge. A few businesses suffered damage to windows, as did the private property of many residents of Rutledge. Citizens should consult their insurance companies regarding damages before contacting the city.
