It wasn’t the kind of week that either the Dogs or Lady Dogs wanted, but with a rain out earlier in the week and then running into a stone wall in the form of North Oconee’s defense on Thursday, both teams will look to regroup after this week’s intercession.
The Dogs couldn’t find any scoring in a 4-0 loss to the Titans. Despite, hanging around early the team wasn’t able to keep up when they fell behind.
“I thought we did well for the first 30 minutes and then we just got behind and lost momentum,” said Dogs Head Coach Chip Meyer.
The Titans scored their first goal on a penalty kick and led 2-0 at half-time, and the Dogs just weren’t able to respond in the second half.
The team will have a chance to redeem itself next week when they visit GMC on March 19. Their next home game is March 25 when they host Monroe Area.
The Lady Dogs soccer team faced similar problem when they met North Oconee’s Lady Titans on Thursday in the early game, also falling in a lop-sided shut out loss.
The ladies will have a chance to turn things around on March 18 when they visit the Jefferson Lady Dragons.
The Lady Dogs will be back home on March 25 when they welcome Monroe.
The JV Bulldog soccer team, meanwhile, didn’t see any action last week.
The next game for the JV Dogs will be a home match-up with Oglethorpe on March 29.
