Middle School golf finds host course

The Morgan County Middle School Golf team is teaming up with Long Shadow Golf Club of Madison for their upcoming spring 2008 season.
Long Shadow is located at Madison Lakes and will be the home course for the MCMS Golf team. The schedule for the season consists of three home matches and three away matches starting with the first away match on March 6 at Hard Labor Creek hosted by Social Circle.
Pup Head Coach Lori Remick says she is proud of what some of her players have already achieved this year. Eighth grader, Andrew Phillips, recently won a tournament in Statesboro by eight strokes to easily take his division.
In other big preseason news, seventh grader Jake O’Bryan had a 187 yard hole in one on the 17th hole at the golf course at Reynolds Plantation on February 24, hopefully a sign of good things to come for the middle school team.
