Dogs, Lady Dogs tennis struggle

The Morgan County High School tennis teams went up against some tough teams this past week, and despite a few individual victories, the teams weren't able to pick up the wins they were hoping for.
"We're getting back to basics and looking to improve," said Head Tennis Coach Jim Fowler.
The girls second doubles team of Katherine Cooper and Layne Jackson picked up an impressive win at Buford last Thursday, but for the rest of the girls team and the boys team things didn't go as well, as Buford dominated the rest of the action.
The boys had a shot at picking up the win Monday afternoon in their second home match.
Daniel Smith won at second singles and so did Logan Plumly at third singles, but the team came up one short of pulling off an overall team victory. Brett Richardson and Skip Lewan played a competitive match but weren't quite able to pick up a win in a match that could have shifted things into the Dogs' favor.
The girls team struggled Monday, unable to pick up a win over the tough Spalding squad.
The teams will look to get things going again when they head to Danielsville Thursday afternoon where they'll meet Madison County's team.
