Corridor Design Commission OKs changes to buildings

By Stephanie Johns

During its February meeting the Madison Corridor Design Commission approved two requests to make architectural changes to existing buildings.
The first, located at 1251 Lions Club Road, added a brick façade.
City Planning Director Monica Callahan called this “A pretty significant investment into the property.”
She noted there also is a new sign at that location.
The second, located at 1531 Eatonton Highway, added brick and metal.
Callahan said it was significant that the applicant felt like they can explore extra tenants on the site.
“It’s about a 5,000 square-foot building that they are converting from single to multiple tenants,” she said.
