Jack King Chilton Sr.

Jack King Chilton Sr., of Madison passed away January 21, 2013. He was born July 14, 1934 in Adairsville, the youngest of five children. He was the son of the predeceased Stewart King Chilton and Julia Mae Chilton of Atlanta.
He is survived by his wife Nini Chilton of Atlanta, brother James “Blue” Chilton (Hilda) of Rutledge, sister Mona Winn (John) of Florida, son Jack Chilton Jr. (Carol) of Atlanta, son Chris Chilton of Tucker, daughter Carol Gornowicz (George) of Atlanta, seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His three children were his pride and joy and considered the greatest accomplishment of his life.
He attended Bass High School and graduated from the University of Georgia. He worked in medical sales, owning CARE Inc. for over 40 years. Sports were a big part of his life. He was a high school football official for over 40 years. Worked state championship game with Herschel Walker in 1979. He served on board of directors at Briarcliff Community Sports and Lakeside High School. He enjoyed golf and fishing, hunting and gardening at his farm in Madison.
A memorial service is planned for Monday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. at Briarcliff United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Bass High Alumni Perpetual Scholarship Fund or Madison Christian Church.
