Members of the Morgan County Board of Elections and Registration re-elected George Holt chairman during their first meeting of 2013.
Board members read through an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Madison prior to voting their approval on it.
Elections Supervisor Bobby Howington told those present that the board will handle the municipal elections for Bostwick, Madison, and Rutledge this year.
Part of that responsibility entails placing ads in the legal organ to inform citizens about qualifying fees.
Howington re-presented information pertaining to possible precinct changes.
During the group’s last meeting of 2012 he gave a presentation suggesting a decrease in the number of precincts from 11 to five.
Such a change could save as much as $18,000 during a presidential election year and as much as $13,000 during mid-term election years.
