Mark Lhowe is conducting the services at the Buckhead Baptist Church in the absence of the pastor while he is away for a few days. The AWANA is doing well with 55 there. The church has already made plans for the Valentine banquet. It will be February 16 at 5:30 p.m. for all of the couples in the church. A nursery will be available at the church.
The former Heather Moore and her husband came by to see George and Laura Lohr last week one day. She is the granddaughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. David and Ruth Lemons who used to pastor the Buckhead Baptist Church for many years. The Lohrs were so glad to see them.

Then they will sell it and all the profit will go to their church. The contact lady is Sherry Smallwood, 321 Sinclair Road, Eatonton, GA 31024. Her phone number is 706-484-9722.
We send our sympathy to the White family in the sudden death of Fred Lorin White III. He was just 63 years old. He lived in California. He was the grandson of the late Fred L. White and Grace White from Buckhead.

We met a very wonderfully couple years ago. They were members of the Prince Avenue Baptist Church. She was my Sunday school teacher. He was in the Sunday school class where my husband went. They were very attractive and she was a retired school teacher. Sometimes they insisted that we go out to eat with them at the Holiday Inn or somewhere. But then after years I began to notice something about her. I talked to her sister-in-law about my idea. I felt that she was getting Alzheimer’s. About that time we got to where we were not able to go to church regularly. I found out that she did have Alzheimer’s. It was so sad to me. He was at one place and she was at another over there in Athens. He was at one place where he could get therapy I believe that was what I was told. Anyway we got the bulletin and we saw where he had died. He had prostate cancer probably 20 years. He had gone to the VA and had meds and I’m sure but I believe shots too. He had lived much longer than the doctors had said that he would live. From a man of such great faith he talked to many people about his Lord. He wanted people to be able to go to heaven and to be there in eternity with him. There was no doubt about where he was going when he died. Now God has called this giant of a man home to be home in eternity. But his wife did not know. She too is a giant in the faith but the dreaded disease has captured her. Someday soon she will join him there.
