Elizabeth Hayes Head (Bettye), 89, of Rutledge, died December 30, 2012. Mrs. Head was born in Greene County on August 24, 1923 to Clifford and Lottie Bell Miller Hayes. She was married to the late Earl Head. She was a member of Rutledge Methodist Church Mrs. Head was retired from the Georgia State Patrol where she worked as a radio operator. She also worked at the Head Service Station that she and Mr. Head owned.
Mrs. Head is survived by two sons Glenn Head of Jefferson and Gary Head of Rutledge; a grandson Travis Earl Head and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service was held Friday, Jan. 4 in the Chapel of A. E. Carter Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Rutledge Cemetery.
A. E. Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
