Donald Lee Overfelt
Donald Lee Overfelt, 78, of Summerville, SC, formerly of Madison, GA, passed away December 18, 2012 after a brief illness.
Don was born in New Smyrna Beach, Fla and joined the United States Navy following high school. He served his country during the Korean Conflict. After his military service he had a long career with BellSouth, eventually retiring as an Operations Coordinator. He was a member of the The Telephone Pioneers of America. Mr. Overfelt will be remembered for his love of golf, fishing and cooking out for his family on New Year’s Day.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Askew Overfelt of Summerville, SC; son, Donald Wayne Overfelt and wife Lisa of Monrovia, MD; two daughters, Tammy Lee Peet and husband Davis of Lawrenceville and Michele Scannicchio and husband Jeff of Flower Mound, TX; brother, Arthur Overfelt and wife Teen of Fleets Landing, FL.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in Madison.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.
