J. C. Pugh Sr.

J. C. Pugh Sr., 83, of Madison died December 13, 2012. He was born on November 1, 1929 in Greensboro to Joseph and Vada Moon Pugh. He was a retired truck driver.  Mr. Pugh served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of Beacon Heights Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his yard as long as he was able. Many will remember him for selling apples and other fruits.
Mr. Pugh is survived by his wife Gertrude Arwood Pugh. He leaves three children, Patricia Bessho (Bob) of Marietta, Joseph C. Pugh Jr. of Las Vegas and Reba Whitaker (Johnny) of Madison; grandchildren, Nick Bessho (Layne), Brittany Bessho, Lindsey Claborn (Denny) and Renee Huckabee (Michael; great-grandchildren Owen Claborn, Kyle, Bryce and Avery Bessho and Elaine Huckabee. A son Ronnie Pugh preceded him in death.
The family received friends Friday, Dec. 14 from 6 unto 8 p.m. at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 in the chapel. Interment was at Almand Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Children’s Health Care of Atlanta.
A. E. Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
