Four MCHS players make region cut

Aubree Cox, Laree Van Orden, Alishia Frierson, and Dee Pittman were chosen this year to be members of the first and second All-Region teams for the 8-AAA division.
Cox, who was chosen for the first team All-Region, was also chosen as 8-AAA’s Player of the Year.
During the regular season, Cox was able to maintain a .463 batting average, driving in 25 RBIs and earning 25 runs, 10 of which were home runs.
In addition to her impressive year at the plate, Frierson also compiled impressive pitching statistics as a freshman this year, allowing only 33 runs in 76 innings, giving her a 3.04 ERA for the year.
“I am extremely proud of these young ladies,” said Coach Doug Connelly about his players’ recognition.
“This region was extremely competitive because of the talented players.  To be selected as all-region by the coaches is a true honor because it demonstrates that these young ladies did something to stand out among a great pool of players.”
