The MCMS wrestling team competed last Wednesday against Oglethorpe Middle School and George Walton Academy, winning both matches.
Morgan County handled Oglethorpe Middle School easily, beating them 69-18.
Fifty four of those points came from pins, which were achieved by Donovan McElliott, Kevin Berisko, Garner Drummond, John Bearden, Samuel Biscoglia, Kyle Kreimann, Jody McAllister, Demarious Robinson, and Dalton Smith in their respective weight classes.
The second match of the night was against George Walton Academy, who gave us a lot of points due to forfeits and lost to Morgan County 72-3.
Bearden, Biscoglia, McAllister, and Glenn Tolbert were able to achieve pins against their opponents from George Walton.
The Middle School has had an impressive start this year to their season.
Coach Mark Roper says that the team’s accomplishments have them moving to the head of their league.
“So far we are 4-0 in our league matches, stated Coach Roper. “We are tied with Social Circle for the lead.”
The MCMS wrestling team will be competing at the Morgan County Christmas Classic this weekend, and then will continue back to league duals next Tuesday against Banks County Middle School and next Wednesday against Social Circle and Washington-Wilkes.
