Columnist on “What’s ahead?”

Well, the people have spoken and we will have four more years under a Democrat President and Senate. We can now look forward to the full implementation of Obama Care and the looming fiscal cliff where our national debt exceeds the $16 trillion debt ceiling. Democrats are demanding tax increases instead of spending cuts. If Congress can’t agree, we face both a tax increase and draconian cuts in our military budget.
Environmentalists are becoming restless and are demanding that the EPA shut down our coal fired power plants and are demanding more drilling restrictions on our natural resources. The EPA is also considering setting aside an additional five million acres of forest land to save the spotted owl.
Our Muslim Brotherhood friends in Libya murdered our Ambassador and the Navy Seals protecting him. The Muslim Brotherhood leader in Egypt declared himself dictator for life the day after being praised by Hillary Clinton for a ceasefire. Satellite photos show that Iran is hastily re-supplying weapons to Hamas to rearm them during the ceasefire. Meanwhile, Iran is going full speed ahead on their program to build a nuclear bomb.
As Obama Care is implemented next year, employers are taking actions to protect themselves. Some restaurant chains may turn full time employees into part time employees to avoid the cost of health insurance mandated by Obama Care. Others are considering a 5 percent surcharge to be added to the cost of the meal to pay for the insurance. At least one university is drastically cutting the hours of their classroom instructors to avoid health insurance costs.
As citizens, we face higher energy costs as coal fired plants are shut down, higher food costs associated with healthcare costs, higher healthcare costs for ourselves and lower income as more jobs are lost and taxes are increased.
You may not have noticed, but the 2016 campaign has already begun. The media is already going after promising Republicans such as Marco Rubio. We can expect a constant drip of negative stories on viable Republican candidates over the next four years.
Fox News and conservative talk radio will also be under constant attack. Last week, we learned from a local Democrat that people who watch CNN and MSNBC are much better informed and more knowledgeable than Fox News viewers. By the way, another study shows that porn stars are more religious and have a higher self esteem than other women.
I am trying to think of a bright side. The only thing I can come up with is that we may eventually learn who is lying to us about Benghazi.
