Morgan’s Playoff History

By Alvin Richardson
Contributing Writer

The Dogs have a long history in the post-season and are one of the few teams in Georgia that can boast of having five state championships and over 400 wins to their credit since 1948. Morgan County has qualified for post- season play 33 times over the past 64 seasons and have a record of 31-28 (.525) in those games. Additionally the Dogs have been ranked in the Top Ten final poll in 12 of those seasons.
With that in mind here is a run-down of each playoff game they have been involved in over that 64-year span. For the details on these games you can consult It’s a Dawg’s Life: 60 Years of Morgan County Football sold at various stores around Madison.
