Norman McGlohon, Northeast District Executive Director, said he is “real optimistic” they will be able to announce the Morgan County agricultural extension agent position mid to late November.
“It depends on the budget,” he said, adding that they have a three percent cutback.
If approved, the position would be open for 30 days and close in December. Interviewing and hiring would take place in January and February.
The county’s last agent, Bobby Smith, resigned effective Sept. 1.
