Get in the truck Momma! The sun’s ‘bout to come up and the turkey gobbler’s are a waitin’! Yeehaw! It’s time for our annual Turkey Shoot! And, I do mean to bring home the Thanksgivin’ Bird! Let me hear that turkey call Momma! Ding dang! You sound just like a big, fat gobbler! OK here’s our spot! Now don’t scare the . . . Momma! Did you hear that gobbler? He’s over yonder! Now don’t shoot til . . . POW! What the? Shoot FIRE! OUCH! Momma! You’ve done shot me in the ding dang bowhonkers! Plus you’ve just ruined my brand spankin’ new camo outfit from Walmart! Hand me the white lightnin’ and get me to Morgan Memorial! Well it looks like we’ll be havin’ a store-bought turkey again this year!
Hey and speakin’ of great food . . . Yesterday’s Café in Rutledge is flat rockin’! Owner Kris Bray called me the other day to tell me they have a brand spankin’ new menu! Plus new hours! Anyhow, my handsome husband took me right over there for lunch and the new menu is DELICIOUS! OK so all your favorites are still there, but there are lots of new entrees like their fantastic Shrimp & Grits! Oh. My. Gosh! And, did I tell you ‘bout the Prime Rib? Well honey it is DELISH! Plus now they have all kinds of new appetizers like Avocado Dip & Chips and even a whole new burger selection and a bunch of new desserts like Fried Blueberry Pie! Oh and you’ll flip when you see the sandwiches and wraps! Y’all head over there today to check it all out! OK so new hours are: Dinner Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., Breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Sunday 8 a.m. til 2 p.m. and closed on Monday!
Oh and don’t forget this weekend is the 33rd Annual Rutledge Christmas in the Country extravaganza! All the shops and restaurants will be joined by crafters and food vendors in the downtown park! OK so this event opens with a Festive Gala Open House Friday evening at 5 p.m. when we can all pop from shop to shop to see what’s in store this Holiday Season! There will be treats and beverages while you shop! Honey it just don’t get any better than that! Kids will LOVE it ‘cause Santa Claus will be in Rutledge Saturday morning on Nov. 17 and the event carries over into Sunday! I’ll see all y’all there!
Lord have Mercy! I just popped over to Harris Furniture located at 1590 Eatonton Road in Madison to check out the scoop! Honey Christy Henry has got it goin’ on! In fact, Cranberry Cottage which was formerly located on West Washington St., is now operatin’ out of Harris Furniture! Fran Ogletree still has all of her great Country Primitive items from Cranberry Cottage available! But, that ain’t all! Honey Jim Halloran of Ships in a Bottle who formerly operated out of a space on West Washington has also moved his retail space to Harris Furniture! That’s right! Everything nautical can be found in his display! Hey and Christy still has all of her fantastic furniture pieces, rugs and accessories but let me tell you ‘bout the coolest new line she has! It’s Serta mattresses! OK so I just had to try out one for myself and honey it had a remote control! Christy had to wake me up it was that PERF! Anyhow y’all check it all out and tell ‘em the Biz Buzz sent ya!
In High Cotton, owned by Madisonians Ron and Rhonda Erwin, is flat ready for Christmas y’all! I recently popped over there to buy me a brand spankin’ new quilt bedspread and met up with managers Kristine Murrell and Melissa Knight to find out what all was new and cool at In High Cotton! First off, they are now opened seven days a week to accommodate all that LOCAL SHOPPIN’ you’re gonna be doin’! Plus they have filled this 6,500-square-foot shop with tons of great gift ideas for Christmas! I flat love, love, love their selection of hats and gloves ‘cause they are the PERF stockin’ stuffer! Oh and y’all they even have “textin’ gloves!” I kid you not! And, they have some of the most beautiful Christmas ornaments you’ll ever see! Oh and of course all of their home accessories and furniture is TO-DIE-FOR-FABULOUS! Y’all head over to In High Cotton, located at 158 West Jefferson St., in downtown Madison and check it all out for yourself!
Oh and I almost forgot to tell y’all somethin’ real important! Madison Markets, Le Petit Jardin, Town & Country and Lilywind Kids (all located in the Madison Markets campus in downtown Madison across from Town Park) are hostin’ a Holiday Open House this Friday and Saturday beginnin’ at 10 a.m.! Oh and if you make a Wish List at Town & Country honey you can enter to win a $50 gift certificate! Hey and Lilywind Kids is gonna be givin’ away a $100 gift certificate! Wow! Y’all check it out this Shoppin’ Weekend and then head on over to Town 220 for a holiday martini! Love it!
This just in! Amici Italian Café located at 113 South Main Street in downtown Madison is gonna donate 10 percent of their sales on Monday, Nov. 19 to the American Red Cross to benefit relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy victims! Y’all do your part by Dinin’ Local at Amici on Monday! Thanks Amici!
