Each of Morgan County’s schools named their Teacher of the Year last week, one of the most prestigious honors an educator can be awarded from their peers.
Family and friends were invited to the suprise annoucements, and students present at the time were able to witness the shock on their teacher’s face.
Each Teacher of the Year was told in their own special way by school administration and was then allowed to go to lunch with family present.
This year’s Teachers of the Year are: Stacy Chapman, Morgan County Primary School; Jennifer Evans, Morgan County Elementary School; Shannon Collier, Morgan County Middle School; and Lisa Hamilton, Morgan County High School.
A final decision is forthcoming from system administration as to who will be named systemwide Teacher of the Year. The announcement is expected next week.
