Bohlen, Longs return from road trip

I had a wonderful visit this past week with my granddaughter Savannah Powers and her friend, Kevin Zinter, both from Baytown, Texas. They enjoyed the Georgia-Ole Miss game on Saturday in Athens.
Happy birthday to Ernest Ward who was 99 years young this past Tuesday.  I hope you have many more birthdays.
Ronnie and Chris Long and Linda Bohlen have returned from an 11-day road trip though the Northeast. They traveled to Gettysburg, Penn. and visited the Robert E. Lee Museum. From there a day was spent touring Lancaster, Penn’s Amish Country. They visited Mrs. Bohlen’s sister, Joyce, and her husband, Stan, in Clifford, Penn., where they joined them and they all went to Freeport, Maine for a day and night of sight-seeing and shopping. From there they went to Bar Harbor, Maine for a few days traveling through Vermont and New Hampshire, stopping along the way at a country store. They then traveled back to Joyce and Stan’s house in Clifford for two days. The weather was perfect. They had so much fun and a lot of laughter.
Jeremy Grant celebrated his seventh birthday Sunday at the home of his aunt Ina Wallace. Those enjoying this event with him were his parents Jason and Yvonne Grant and his brother Joshua, grandparents Charles and Jerry Giles, Denise and Terry Eller, Delores Masters and Monaray Powers.
Becky Snowden was surprised for her birthday Thursday evening at Pachos in Madison. Among those attending were her mother Robin Benkoski and Peter, her brother, Sonny Snowden, Cynthia and Bob Reed, Judy and Rick Clayton, Artrose Cooper, Betsy Jenniges, Katie Davis and Andy, Kathryn Schiliro, Benny and Mary Bellebuono, and Monaray Powers.
The Ladies Golf Association at The Creek held their end-of-the-year golf tournament Tuesday, Oct. 30. First place winners were Evelyn King, Irene Paul and Clark and Rachel Jones. Second place went to Colemans-Rosie, Jane and John. Bob and Rose Mary Hughes and Tony and Claudia Sells won third. Closest to the pin award went to Ray Hinkle, John Coleman and Rosie Coleman. After a very windy day of golf the group went to the home of Bob and Rose Mary Hughes for a delicious chili dinner.
Sympathy is extended to Greg Stewart in the death of his brother, Pat Stewart of Monroe.
