Beware your decisions in life
Praise God for another birthday, which was Saturday. I got many cards, calls but one gift topped it off. I’ll get to it later when my mind gets rested from the trip. Thanks to all who remembered me on my special day.
Saturday the weather was nice. I stayed in all day resting. Sunday the weather was cloudy and very pleasant. I was late getting to Sunday school but the little I got in on it was a good lesson. Following Sunday school we went right into our baptism service, which is always a blessing to us. Pastor T.’s mini sermon to the new converts came from the book of Luke 17: 29-30.Text: “You’ve gotten out now stay out.” There will always be someone out there trying to tempt you to sin but with a made-up mind you can resist temptation.
Some people will always wait until you turn your life over to Christ and decide to bring your attention to what you used to do. Tell them to let the past go. I’ve been change and I am not looking back. I’m out and will stay out. Praise God. I will not go back to the way it used to be since the Lord changed me. I am happy with my new life. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Pastor T for such a powerful word from the Lord. Be careful of the decisions you make in life so that you will not be sorry later in life.
Visiting with Gwen and Mother Lois Johnson was James Adams from Bronx, N.Y. a long-time friend of the family. I hope he enjoyed our service and we will be happy to have him back again. Pray that the weather in upstate New York is getting better.
Our morning worship service began with the deacons leading devotion and the choir rendered the music. Pastor T. came with the message from I Chronicle 4: 9-10.His text, “Getting a Prayer Through.” There was a man named Jabez, he was different from any of his brothers; he was an honored man. He was one who prayed to God He asks the Lord would you bless me and extend my land. Jabez was a praying man and he ask God to be with him in all that he does. You can’t go around living any kind of way and thinking the Lord will bless you. God does not bless a mess He is a God that everything He does is good. Thank you Lord. Living right He will honor you so He can use you. God wants someone to honor him and spend time with him. Go to John 1 Chapter 7: 4 and see why your prayers have not gone through.
If you live right and do God’s will He will grant your request in whatever you asked Him. He will keep you from trouble and pain. Praise God! You will get a prayer through and be blessed.
Keep all the sick, shut-ins and bereaved in your prayers.
Thought for the Week: “If you seek Him, you will find Him.”
