Centennial Baptist celebrates 19th annual Veteran’s Day Service
Veteran's Day – Celebrated as a national holiday, one day a year, in honor of our veterans who have served to defend the rights and freedom of our country. One day each year. One day! Is one day enough? Whether it is or isn't, we should take this day to honor and thank our veterans for their service. The members of Centennial Baptist Church in Rutledge do just that.
The Sunday before Veteran's Day, every year for the past 19 years, our morning church service is a time of celebration, to honor all veterans in attendance. This year we are honored to celebrate Veteran's Day on Sunday, Nov. 11. Many veterans have been coming every year, from the surrounding communities, to be recognized and honored. The service begins promptly at 10:30, with our pastor welcoming all veterans and their families. Our choir honors them with special music, the ROTC honors them with posting of the service flags and our guest speaker each year honors them with a special message. We are honored to have as our guest speaker this year, Congressman Dr. Paul Broun. At the end of the service, all veterans and their families will be served lunch in our fellowship hall.
Veterans and families, we would be honored to have you join us. Again, the date is Nov. 11 at 10:30 a.m, at Centennial Baptist Church, 5321 Brownwood Road, Rutledge, Ga. There will be people there to make you feel welcomed and honored. And again, thank you to all veterans for serving your country!
