Pingry, Lawton win golf tourney

The Ladies Golf Association at The Creek at Hard Labor held their annual club championship on Monday and Tuesday, October 8 and 9. Gloria Pingry won low gross and Mary Lawton won low net. Both received a trophy to keep and both will have their names displayed on the trophy at the clubhouse.
I have enjoyed having my son Sammy Powers and grandson Cameron Powers visiting me this week from Baytown, Texas. Also visiting them were Bart Hilsman from Cleveland and Glenda Nelms.
Al Rosencrance celebrated his birthday Oct. 15.
John Buchanan has been a patient at Morgan Memorial Hospital. We all hope he is feeling much better now.
 The Godfrey Community Park Annual Barbecue has been re-scheduled to Saturday, November 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This will be a “Whole Pig” barbecue with Brunswick stew.  Tickets are $9.  A child’s plate for children under age 10 in attendance will be available for $5.00.  Contact Esther Curry at (706) 474-5963 for tickets.
