Sybil Dickson Abercrombie, 84, of Rutledge, died October 3, 2012. She was born on November 30, 1927 in Rutledge. She was retired from Delta Airlines. Mrs. Abercrombie was widowed by Paul Abercrombie and Harold Davenport. She was a member of Centennial Baptist Church. She loved to read and watch old movies. Mrs. Abercrombie enjoyed spending time on her computer and being with old friends. Mrs. Abercrombie is survived by two sons, Joe Abercrombie and Linda of Madison and John Paul Abercrombie of Covington. She has one sister Vivian Howard in Beverly Hills, Fla., as well as nieces and nephews.
The family received friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.
The funeral service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Entombment was at Lawnwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Covington. Rev. Wilburn Hill officiated.
