Momma and I were just a dancin’ and a singin’ that tune all night long last Saturday at the Georgia vs. Tennessee game in Athens! That’s cause at the tailgate extravaganza we spiked mean ole Sassy Sista’s sweet tea with a big ole batch of Momma’s most powerful and stealth-like White Lightnin’! Lord Have Mercy! After she slapped that poor ole Tennessee fan, Sassy Sista was arrested for drunkenly and disorderly conduct! PawPaw had to drive on up to the drunk tank to fetch her! Talk ‘bout Bad ‘n Busted! I reckon she’ll stay outta our way for a spell anyhow! Now that’s what I call the Perf weekend!

But wait just a ding dang minute! This weekend is gonna be THE BEST EVER! Cause it’s Madison’s annual Chili Cook-Off & Fall Festival at Town Park this Saturday, Oct. 6! Look out! Word on the street is that there are more than 30 chili teams this year! Shoot fire! But don’t worry none ‘cause Momma’s gonna bring some of that special White Lightnin’ for those crazy Three Amigos! Let’s just say Plan Goodnight Amigo will be executed flawlessly! Yeehaw! I flat can’t wait! Y’all come on out to Town Park for some fantastic chili, live music, ELVIS and more! OK so here’s the deal: Wristbands to sample chili go on sale at 11 a.m. and are only $3 per person. You must have a wristband to vote for People’s Choice! Right so chili tastin’ begins at 12:30 until 3 p.m. or until the chili runs out! Event Sponsor The Madison ChopHouse Grille will be selling chili too! Yay! Oh and you can hang out with friends in the Beer Garden which opens at 11 a.m. Winners will be announced at 3:30 p.m.! Hey and buy you the perf pumpkin plus get pumpkin carvin’ lessons from a pro! Maybe Sassy Sista will agree to be your pumpkin face model! Oh and you can compete in Krystal’s Chili Pup Eatin’ Contest too! I flat can’t wait! I’ll see all y’all there! Yikes! I almost forgot! Madison Main Street Director Ann Huff says this year’s Chili-Cook Off T-shirts are flamin’ hot, hot, hot! They will be on sale at the cook-off for only $10 a piece! Get one!

And, speakin’ of fall... It’s the most delicious time of the year! That’s cause honey  Antique Sweets got hold of some fabulous apples and Patrick Alligood did his magic! I’m talkin’ the most delicious way to eat an apple EVER ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH! OK so Patrick has made homemade caramel, milk chocolate and dark chocolate and Oh. My. Gosh he dips and rolls these apples into the most delectable sweet/tangy thing ever! Right so you can buy these fantastic, giant apples that are hand-dipped into caramel, caramel and pecans or caramel, chocolate and pecans! Lord have mercy! What a great gift these make! It’s the perf pick-me-up prize! Plus get a few for your dinner party and slice ‘em up as dessert! They are wonderful! I do this every year! OK so Patrick’s wife, Kristie, who also works at Antique Sweets just now gave me a sample of one of the caramel pecan apples and it was TO DIE FOR! She is now my best friend EVER!
