Leroy Screws, formerly of Buckhead, died Sunday, August 26, 2012.He was born in Wrightsville on February 1, 1930 to Willie and Susie Neese Screws. He was an Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He was a retired electrician. Mr. Screws was a member of Swords Methodist Church and was also a Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife Nellie Holbert Screws.

He is survived by his daughters Elaine Phillips and Rickey and Jane Hixenbaugh and Thomas; grandchildren Dr. Heather Hall, Jessica Daniel, James Daniel and Rebekah Hixenbaugh; one great-grandchild Harlyn Amber Ottinger; a sister Betty Epps and other family, Charlie and Patsy Holbert, J. C. and Barbara Sidwell, Pat Brown, David and Marsha Holbert and Leonard and Sara Lynn Holbert.

The family received friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28 at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel. Interment followed at the Almand Cemetery in Apalachee.
A. E. Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
