A sophisticated robbery emptied the Eatonton Road  AT&T store sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
According to Madison Police Department reports, an employee at the store told investigators that some time in the night, someone entered the store and removed all of the in-store stock of phones, including display models, a computer, a computer monitor and cash.
Reports state that the perpetrators entered the store by prying through the front door of a vacant store next door before breaking open a hole in the connecting wall of the two stores.
After entering the store, the wiring system for the store’s security system was cut as well as phone and internet lines. The hard drive to the store’s surveillance system was also removed.
According to reports, an undetermined amount of cash was removed from a safe in the store along with approximately $14,000 worth of cell phones.
