Two men brandishing pistols robbed the Golden Pond convenience store on Newborn Road, Rutledge, in broad daylight last Thursday.
According to Morgan County Sheriff's Office reports, the store was robbed at approximately 5:30 p.m. Reports state that two men wearing ski masks and gloves barged into the store during a power outage and held two employees at gunpoint.
Reports state that the men took an undetermined amount of cash from the register and took a bank bag with more money from the employees. An employee could only identify the men as short, with medium builds.
The men fled the store and left the area in a red, older model car, an employee said, and travelled south on Newborn Road. No injuries were reported in the robbery. Morgan County investigators are seeking the public's assistance to aid in the arrest and capture of the men. Anyone with information is asked to call the Morgan County Sheriff's Tip Line at 706-342-1000 or the Morgan County Sheriff's Office main line at 706-342-1507.
