Roy Lee Dobbs of Bostwick died August 7, 2012. He was born in Good Hope on April 17, 1927. His parents were the late Dewitt and Mattie Roberts Dobbs. Dobbs joined the United States Army and served for 20 years. During that time he fought in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. It was during his time in service that he met and married Ursula Stachowski of Germany. After retiring he moved back to Morgan County. He went to work at the Post Office and carried mail for 20 years. Dobbs enjoyed working outside, spending much time in his yard and garden.
Dobbs was preceded in death by his wife, Ursula S. Dobbs. He is survived by his twin brother Troy Dobbs and his wife Ouida Dobbs and nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Thursday, Aug. 9 from 6 until 8 p.m. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. at Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church. Interment followed at Bostwick Cemetery. Rev. John Autry officiated at the service. Military honors were provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
