Morgan County High School football Coach Bill Malone recently announced the startup of a tri-county football team for youth ages 11 and 12 years old.
The selection process begins Monday, July 23, and Tuesday, July 24, at the Morgan County High School practice fields from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Morgan County High School varsity coaches will handle selection.
If interested, registration is open at the Morgan County Recreation Department. Registration deadline is July 20. The team will compete in the Barrow-Oconee-Morgan Football League.
Under the new consolidated football program, no sixth graders will participate on the middle school football team, and seventh graders are strongly encouraged to be involved in the selection process for this tri-county team as opposed to playing middle school football, Malone said in a statement.
