James D. Addy Jr. 60, of Buckhead died May 18, 2012 after a brief illness. He was born September 5, 1951 to James Addy Sr. and Gerrelldine Bussey. On September 9, 2009 James was married to Nancy Mitcham. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Buckhead Baptist Church. He enjoyed time spent with family on Lake Oconee and loved trips to the beach. Mr. Addy made many great friends because of his love for motorcycles. He made many trips with friends on his Harley Davidson. Mr. Addy was also a committed nurse showing great care for his patients. He will be remembered for his quick wit and great personality.
He is survived by his wife Nancy and his mother Gerrelldine Addy. He leaves children, Paige Saye and Matt Griffin, Jill Cobb, Kristi Collins and Tommy, Jamie Addy and Stephen Houser, Dean Strange and Cathy and Dave Strange and Chasity; 15 grandchildren and another on the way. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law Jason Cobb, a sister Vicki Addy and his father James Addy Sr.
The family received friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service was held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Interment followed at the Madison City Cemetery.
