Bizz Buzz • By Dianne Lively Yost

Apparently, hatin’ is the new happy! I ain’t kiddin’ y’all! People are just fussin’ and hatin’ all over the ding dang place! Momma’s so tired of it she’s gonna slap the ever-livin’ tar out of the next person she hears fussin’ or hatin’! I mean really! Drastic times call for drastic measures and I’ve got just the scheme! Let’s all channel "Glee," hold hands and start singin’ a warm-your-soul song! Hummm . . . I’m thinkin’ a hit tune from 1967 and the Youngbloods! Somebody call Chip Lyness over at DOCK 103.9 in Greensboro and tell him to play it for us immediately! Perf! Sing it! “Come on people now, smile on your brother. Everybody get together try and love one another right now.” Thanks Chip!
Now don’t y’all feel better? Yes! I feel the love!  Life’s too ding dang short to fuss! Now we’re in the perf mood for the Biz Buzz!
And, honey nothin’ can get Morgan County in a better mood than great food! The other day one of my most fabulous friends EVER took me to The Caboose, owned by Ed Hogan and located at 102 West Main St. in downtown Rutledge, for a birthday lunch to celebrate the BIG 5-0! Yikes! That’s right y’all! I’m now officially an old crone but I ain’t never gonna act like one! OK so anyhow we had the best lunch ever at The Caboose and if you haven’t been there in a while honey you’re flat gonna flip! The Caboose has expanded its space! OK so Molly Lesnikowski gave up a bit of her space at Red Doors Studios for the Caboose, but still has work space for her fab art in the back! Anyhow the Caboose menu ROCKS IT! OK so everybody who’s anybody knows the Caboose has THE BEST Reuben known to man! But honestly, all of their sandwiches are fantastic! Plus they have fab take-out items like homemade pimiento cheese, chicken salad and deviled eggs! Mercy! Oh and don’t forget the OMG Delish milkshakes and shaved ice! Get over there today to check it all out!
Hey and while you’re in Rutledge you must check out a brand spankin’ new shop located at 126 Fairplay St. called Serendipity Collectibles & Bumble B Books! This new shop, owned by Marge McMickle and Rick LeMonte both of Rutledge, is flat fun! OK so it’s full of sports, movie and military memorabilia, handmade tables, game boards and the most fantastic dollhouses you have ever seen! Oh and Serendipity also has thousands of used books plus a reading room area! I love, love, love it! Oh and Rick, who has a background in the movie business with Hollywood connections, is plannin’ on hostin’ lots of fun celebrities at the shop beginnin’ August 12 with that fantastic professional wrestler Larry Zbvyszko who will be at the new shop to sign autographs! Ding dang! Momma’s so excited she is doin’ cartwheels! Hey and Rick is gonna get "Dukes of Hazzard" star Sonny Shroyer to pop over in September! Y’all head over to Rutledge to check out this new shop today!
OK y’all! This Thursday, August 4 from 6 p.m. til 8 p.m., y’all had best head right over to Town 220, located at 220 West Washington St., in Madison for the Madison Artists Guild’s Opening Reception for Gary Hudson XLG Show titled: "Art Lives Works from the '70s California & New York!" OK so Karen Strelecki says this show will feature works that have never been seen together in Georgia! I flat can’t wait! The Madison Artists Guild always puts on the BEST SHOWS! Y’all be there or be square!
Get ready y’all! Put it on your calendar! The 7th Annual 2011 Chili Cook-Off hosted by Madison Main Street is slated for Saturday, Oct. 1! Yeah! Oh and Three Amigos! This message is for you: Watch out boys ‘cause Hot Off The Presses is comin’ back to beat you fair and square! Just don’t get your feelings hurt when our chili slaps your chili into next week! Y’all call Ann Huff over at the City of Madison at 706-342-1251, extension 6 to sign up your team!
That’s it for the Buzz on Biz! Y’all be sweet, take good care of Momma and shop local, local, local! And, don’t forget to advertise local in your hometown local newspaper: the Morgan County Citizen! Stay cool and I’ll see all y’all next week: Same time. Same Number One Weekly Newspaper in the Great State of Georgia!

Printed in the August 4 edition.
