• On July 18 a larceny from auto complaint was filed at a Penor Street location after a man reported that someone entered his vehicle and removed a CD/radio player from the vehicle. The complainant reported that he had removed the battery earlier and could not lock the doors to the vehicle.
• On July 10 a larceny from building complaint was filed at a South Main Street location after a woman reported that someone had taken prescription medicine. The woman reported that the theft had been discovered when the establishment called in a refill prescription for Lortabs. The pharmacy reported that the prescription had been refilled just two days earlier and it was not time for a new refill. The woman investigated and found that someone had removed 21 Lortabs from a locked medicine push cart the facility uses to administer drugs to patients.
• On July 11 a damage to property complaint was filed at an Eatonton Road fast food restaurant after a woman reported that a fellow employee was in the kitchen working but was not on the clock. Reports state that a manager told the employee to leave the kitchen area until she clocked in to work. The employee refused and the manager asked a second time, this time informing the employee that if she did not leave the kitchen area she would be disciplined. The woman refused a second time and was terminated. After the termination the woman allegedly threw pans at the manager, destroyed a control board, threw a metal sweet tea container on the floor, snatched cups out of a cup bin and threw them on the floor, threw 20 pounds of raw meat on the floor and destroyed a cordless phone by throwing it. Consequently, the fired employee also filed a police report alleging that she told her manager that she would only work four hours of her eight-hour shift because if she worked over she would be in overtime and that she was told not to work any overtime hours. The employee said the manager told her she would work her entire shift. The employee said she walked into the kitchen to speak with a fellow employee and that the manager told her she could not be in that area. The employee said she left and the manager then wrote her up. The employee said she refused to sign the write up and was fired. The employee said she then tried to use the phone to get a ride home and that the manager grabbed her arm and snatched the phone away. The employee said she suffered a bruise on the arm.
• On July 9 a larceny from auto complaint was filed at a Harris Street location after a woman reported that someone had entered her Toyota Rave and removed a notebook carrying case, a Ipod Nano, a $1 bill, a pair of sunglasses, a Nintendo DS, several Nintendo games and a pair of Ipod earphones.
• On July 11 a burglary complaint was filed at a Green Meadows Drive location after a man reported that someone had removed a Safelink phone from his house. The man said he noticed the phone was missing two days after he had placed it on a stand near his television.

• On July 15 a hit and run report was filed at the intersection of Georgia Highway 278 and Newborn Road, Rutledge after a woman reported that after she had stopped at the intersection a late model black Ford pickup truck crossed the center line and struck her vehicle. The woman said the driver of the pickup truck fled the scene. The incident occurred at approximately 11:51 p.m.
• On July 17 a misplaced item complaint was filed at a Westminster Way location after a woman reported that while she was at a garage sale she noticed that she had lost her purse. The woman said she contacted the organizer of the sale but the purse was not located.
• On July 13 a terroristic threats and acts complaint was filed at an Oconee Road, Buckhead location after a woman reported that someone called her and left a message on her cell phone. The woman said the caller threatened to kill her.
• On July 15 a burglary complaint was filed at a Dixie Highway location after a man reported that someone had entered his barn and removed a Cub Cadet riding lawnmower with a 42” mowing deck. The mower is valued at $1,600.
• On July 15 a theft by taking complaint was filed at a Sandy Creek Road convenience store after a man reported that a white male with a beard put $50.56 worth of gasoline in his small blue pickup truck and then drove off.
• On July 14 Bashun Anthony Carter, 21, Madison was arrested and charged with simple battery after he allegedly struck a pregnant woman while the two people were in a vehicle at the intersection of Apalachee River Road and Georgia Highway 278. According to reports, several people observed Carter striking the woman, who was in the back seat of the vehicle.
• On July 14 a disorderly conduct complaint was filed at a Nunnally Street, Rutledge, location after a woman reported that a man stopped his truck in front of her house and asked where the woman’s son was located. The woman told the man that the son might be in Rutledge at a relative’s house. The man followed the woman to the house and once at the house allegedly yelled at the woman regarding her son dating his former girlfriend.
• On July 14 an aggravated assault and recovered stolen vehicle complaint was filed at a Centennial Road, Rutledge location after deputies responded to a lookout for a stolen Ford Crown Victoria out of Union Point. Deputies were given a description of the man allegedly driving the vehicle and located the vehicle in front of the Centennial Road residence. A deputy waited for backup before approaching the vehicle or the residence an observed a man drive the vehicle to the rear of the residence. When backup arrived, the deputies approached the house and were told by a man in the house that the suspect had fled the house and ran into the woods. The man also said that the suspect’s former girlfriend, a residence of the house, was missing. Deputies waited near the house and later observed two people fighting near the house, with a male yelling and then dragging the other person to the back of the house. The deputies approached the house again and checked the entrance to the crawl space and heard a woman begging for help. The deputies located a woman under the house. The woman said the man had dragged her under the house when they first approached and placed his hand over her mouth and told her if she made any noise he would kill her. Deputies also observed a man under the house but as they approached him he apparently knocked out a vent cover and concrete blocks under the house and fled into the woods behind the house. The woman said the man struck her several times and choked her. Deputies have issued a warrant for James Derrick Walker, 31, Union Point in relation to the alleged attack and theft of the vehicle.
