Jennifer Lynn Eckman and James William Evans
Jenifer Lynn Eckman formerly of Morgan County was given in marriage to James William Evans of New Brighton, Pennsylvania by her sons Patrick Ryan Childers, William Howard Childers, Jr, and Joshua Morgan Childers on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10:31 a.m. The bride is the daughter of the late Melba Jean Simmons Eckman and the late James Eckman. The groom is the son of Donna Bird Evans.
The wedding ceremony was held outside at Brady’s Run Park in Beaver Falls, PA. The family was seated to the music of Natalie Cole “This will be an everlasting love”. The attendant’s processional was to the song “It’s a wonderful world” by Louis Armstrong. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her sons to “You’re the inspiration” by Chicago. The couple and their children participated in the ceremony by having a unity sand ceremony to signify all of them becoming one family. The children each poured different color sand into the jar, the groom poured Pennsylvania soil and the bride poured Morgan County red clay to symbolize their past and future as one family. During the sand ceremony the couple’s song “Someone like you” by Van Morrison was played. The ceremony ended with an Irish blessing and the recessional song “We are family” by Sister Sledge. The ceremony had a very strong Irish influence to symbolize both bride and groom’s Irish heritage. The couple was united in marriage by the Rev. Wayne Seamans.
The bride’s dress was an Evan Picone pale pink knee length chiffon dress with rhinestone embellishment over a sheer mesh around neck. The bridal bouquet was a beautiful arrangement of peonies and lavender stock with hosta leaves done by a long time family friend as a remembrance of Jenifer’s grandmother’s peonies from childhood. The attendants carried bouquets of lavender stock with lavender ribbon. The bride was attended by her stepdaughter Tanner Jade Evans (New Brighton, PA) as maid of honor, her son Ryan’s fiancé Jillian Randall Adams (Rutledge), and friend Emily Pagan (Aliquippa, PA). The groom’s son Jericho Chaise Evans (New Brighton, PA) was his best man; groomsmen were friends Mike DelBane (Darlington, PA), and Sonny Leist (Beaver Falls, PA). Flower girl was the groom’s niece Haley Evans. The guest book attendants were the groom’s nieces Taytum Lynn Evans and Jessica Evans. The ushers were close friends of the couple’s sons, Kalib Wagurak, Taylor Rombold, and Corey Bachman.
The reception was a casual family style “Pignic” (pig roast) immediately following the ceremony cooked by the couple and assisted by family and friends. The wedding cake was a beautiful display of lavender cupcakes on a tiered stand designed and built by the groom and decorated with lavender flowers and ribbon by the children and family members. The bride was a given a magnificent lavender and white floral centerpiece for the wedding by her dear friends (Melissa, Jamie, Michelle, Victoria, and Lisa) “The GA Girls”.
The couple and their younger children all reside in the New Brighton, Pennsylvania area.
