Sentences handed down in criminal court

Several cases were heard in Morgan County Superior Court last week. The following individuals were adjudicated during criminal court.
• Carlesha Watkins, 24, Columbia, S. C. plead guilty to one count possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. She received a 30-year sentence with 15 years to serve and the remainder to be served on probation. She also received a $5,000 fine.
• David Randall Watson, 51, Warner Robins, pled guilty to one count DUI and one count driving while license suspended. He was sentenced to two years to be served on probation after serving 72 hours in incarceration. He was also ordered to perform 240 hours of community service, fined $1,000 and ordered to complete a DUI Risk Reduction course and complete a clinical evaluation and undergo any ordered treatment.
• Frederick Q. Binion, 41, Savannah, pled guilty to one count speeding, one count DUI. He was sentenced to two years to be served on probation after serving 72 hours. He was also ordered to complete 240 hours of community service, must complete a risk reduction class, undergo drug evaluation and was fined $1,000.
• Daniel T. Powers, 19, Eatonton, pled guilty to one count theft by taking. He was sentenced to five years probation, ordered to obtain a GED, fined $1,000 and ordered to pay $180 in restitution.
• Travonies D. Clarke, 18, Madison, pled guilty to one count theft by receiving stolen property, one count carrying a concealed weapon and one count possession of a pistol by a person under 18. He received an eight-year sentence to be suspended after entry into boot camp and the service of 11 months in the Morgan County Detention Center. He also was ordered to served three to 12 months intensive probation, was fined $1,000 and ordered to forfeit the weapon. In a separate matter Clarke also pled guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and criminal trespass. He received the same (concurrent) sentencing on those charges. In a third matter with Clarke, he pled guilty to three counts of criminal trespass and one count obstruction of an officer. He received a 12 month probated sentence to run concurrent with any other sentences and was ordered to stay “completely away from all housing authority within the City of Madison.”
• Avery Deon Cooper, 29, Madison, pled guilty to one count possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute. He was sentenced to 10 years with three to serve and the remainder to be served on probation. He was fined $2,000 and ordered to testify truthfully in an upcoming trial.
• Noland William Diggs, 27, Atlanta, pled guilty to one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was sentenced to five years probation, fined $2,000 and ordered to forfeit the weapon and any other items seized.
• Janet Denise Smith, 44, Siloam, pled guilty to one count forgery in the first degree. She was sentenced to three years probation and was fined $1,000.
• Roger Glen Martin, 49, Eatonton, pled nole contendere on one count speeding and one count driving while license suspended. He received one year with 10 days to serve and was fined $1,000.
• Marvin M. Tanner, 49, Newnan, pled nolo contendere on one count of unsecure load. He was sentenced to 12 months probation and fined $200.
• Moses Johnson, 36, Norcross pled guilty to one count driving without valid driver’s license. He was sentenced to 12 months probation and was fined $1,000.
